Clarisse has been dedicated to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Computing, Humanities, and Social Sciences, with a specific focus on Digital Rhetoric and the Philosophy of Technology. Her activities in these areas can be followed on the EMAPS website, the study group on Ethics and Algorithmic Mediation of Social Processes ».

Additionally, her interest in Computational Semiotics remains strong through partnerships with members and alumni of SERG, the Semiotic Engineering Research Group », from the Department of Informatics at PUC-Rio, which is now associated with Ideias, the laboratory for Investigations into Interaction Design and System Evaluation ».
